McLean County Courthouse Burns (1908)

The McLean County Courthouse at Calhoun, Ky., was burned last Wednesday night. The fire started after a night session of Court.  The loss is $40,000.  Nearly all the records were destroyed.

  1. Only two books were destroyed and they had been left outside the vault. This news article about everything being destroyed was, of course, mistaken. None of the marriage books or deed books were damaged.
